This kimono is made from old indigo cloths from Mali. Narrow strips of cotton have been carefully woven, sewn together and dyed deep indigo blue. Originally used for clothing and special ceremonies, the blue color symbolizes strength, protection and tradition while warding off negative energy. The fabric is soft and drapes gracefully, making the kimono perfect for wearing over a sweater in winter or as an evening coat in on warmer days. When not wearing it, hang it on the wall as the work of art that it is.
